Weddings

Your wedding day is full of moments you’ll never want to forget… and my job is to make sure you don’t have to. With over 20 years of photojournalism experience, I’m honored you’re considering me to capture your big day.

There are so many wedding photographers out there, so I’m happy you’ve made it here. My approach is simple: forget the Pinterest boards, the stiff poses, and the mile-long shot lists. The best photos happen when you forget I’m even there. All you need to do is focus on enjoying your day, and I’ll be there to capture the happy tears, the spontaneous laughter, and the unexpected moments you’ll treasure the most.

I know how overwhelming wedding planning can feel… the Pinterest boards, the timelines, the endless “must-have” photo lists. But here’s the truth: you don’t need to prepare anything for me. You don’t need to “perform.” You don’t even need to think about the camera.

My approach is simple: show up, enjoy your people, and trust me to capture the story as it happens.

"I feel so fortunate that Jackie was there to shoot our wedding day. Not only is she an incredibly talented photographer, she is a a dream to work with. She responded promptly and thoroughly to all emails and was a calming spirit on our wedding day. We could not be happier with how our photos turned out and would use Jackie again in a heartbeat!"

THE PHOTOGRAPHER

What makes you different from other photographers?

I think what sets me apart is that I am a full-time photojournalist first and a wedding photographer second. I’ve been photographing historical daily news events since 2005 and have covered important events such as presidential inaugurations, protests, The Masters tournament, etc. I’ve been trained not to create moments but understand that with patience, they will happen. I don’t have a list of “must-have” shots that I keep stored in the back of my mind. I anticipate the quiet moments and in an artistic and creative way, I capture the uniqueness of your story.

Do you work with a second photographer?

Sometimes. Most of the time it’s just me but if you would like to add a second photographer, I work with many great ones and we can make that happen. We can also discuss the pros and cons of each.

Do you have insurance?

Yes! Many venues require photographers to have insurance.

THE PHOTOS

When do we get to see our wedding photos?

I typically post a blog preview about 3-4 weeks after the wedding. The full gallery of images will be ready in about 6-8 weeks after the wedding.

Do we get all of the photos?

Most of them. I always remove duplicates (but include different versions of the same photo) and anything that is technically not up to my standards (out of focus, eyes closed, etc.)

How many pictures will we receive?

It depends on how many hours I am with you. But on average, most couples who work with me for 8 hours receive approximately 500 photos. Typically more if there is a second photographer.

Do you take posed family photos?

Yes, of course. But I do try to encourage you to limit the number of groupings if possible. Most couples who hire me would much prefer I be shooting candids of their family and friends having fun!

Do you shoot black and white and color?

Yes. I love black and white! When editing the images, if I feel a certain image would translate better in black and white, I will give you a version in both (as opposed to just color) But the majority of photos you will receive will be in color only.

Do you edit all of the photos?

Yes, all photos will be color-corrected and cropped as needed- though I don’t use trendy filters in post processing to make an average photo appear better. I try to stay true to the scene. You don’t want your photos to feel outdated years down the road.

Do you shoot engagement sessions?

Yes, engagement sessions are included free of charge with your wedding if you book six hours or more. If you hire me for your wedding hourly à la carte, engagement shoots can be added on. These shoots are a great way for us to meet and get to know one another. It helps to get you comfortable in front of the camera and it’s great practice for your wedding day. It’s meant to be a very low-key, relaxing experience. But it’s entirely up to you whether or not you want to take advantage of it.

THE PAYMENT

What is your payment schedule?

Payments are made in thirds. Upon booking, I require a signed contract and one-third of the total investment. The next payment is due three months prior to your wedding date. The final payment is due a week prior to your wedding date.

What if we want to book, but don’t know which package we want?

I would select the minimum amount of coverage you think you will need. You can always upgrade if necessary!

Can I pay online?

Yes!

Is there a travel fee?

Travel fees are not assessed unless the venue/session is further than 1.5 to 2 hours from Holliston, MA.

Do you offer albums?

I'm always happy when clients choose an album from their wedding day, because it goes so much deeper than the computer screen. You can touch it, show it to your proud parents, and laugh together while flipping through the pages. An album tells the story of your day in a way that nothing else can and it lives on to tell that story to your children and grandchildren.

There are several album options to choose from with every budget in mind; from leather bound flushmount albums to magazine style. Contact me to learn more about albums.
