Cara and Jeff were married on June 20th with a ceremony at the College of the Holy Cross and a reception at Mechanics Hall in Worcester, MA.
My second shooter, Jen Osojnicki, started out with the guys at their hotel; while I met up with the girls at Cara’s parents’ house in Shrewsbury. At the same time that Jeff was struggling to get his tie just right, the girls were drinking champagne and laughing together as Cara got into her dress.
Once we got to the church, it was gorgeous! I’ve noticed that most ceremonies in churches tend to be serious and very formal, but there were so many smiles and so much laughter taking place during the ceremony!
That was typical of the whole day, though. Cara and Jeff love to make each other laugh. Those laughing pictures tend to be my favorite photos from their wedding, too. Jeff really does not like getting his photo taken, but when he is with Cara and laughing, you can see his tough, not-liking-to-be-in-front-of-the-camera exterior melt away. I really enjoyed capturing the smiley, comfortable Jeff!
We got some really great pictures throughout the day, but I think the speeches were my favorite. Cara’s sister made everyone cry, Jeff’s brother made everyone laugh, and the whole thing ran the gamut of the emotional scale!
I also like the picture of Cara exiting the church when she grabs her veil—I think the lighting turned out well. And the last photo of them on the stairs toward the end of the night, when they were both relaxed, was lovely! The ceremony photos of lightheartedness and smiles also made me happy.
Thank you, Cara & Jeff, for allowing us to capture this perfect moment in your lives! You were so much fun, and the whole atmosphere of your wedding was amazing and great to be part of. I wish you the best in this new chapter of your lives!
